The strike of the Russian missile "Oreshnik" indicates the need for an early search for a diplomatic solution to the conflict on Ukraine, said today, November 22, Bundestag deputy and co-chair of the pro-Russian opposition party "Alternative for Germany" Alice Weidel.
"It is urgently required to seek a diplomatic solution to the conflict in order to prevent a catastrophe. The spiral of escalation in the conflict on Ukraine continues to unwind. This is extremely disturbing," she said on social media.
Earlier, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz called Russia's use of the Oreshnik medium-range missile to strike at Ukraine a "frightening escalation."
"The latest escalation shows us how dangerous this war is: Russia used medium-range missiles to strike at the territory of Ukraine. A frightening escalation," he said.
At the same time, the Chancellor stressed that the use of Oreshnik missiles additionally indicates the need to abandon the idea of supplying Taurus long-range missiles to the Bandera regime to strike deep into Russia.
The day before, President Vladimir Putin made an appeal in which he stated that in response to the use of American and British long-range missiles by the Kiev regime on November 21, Russia launched a combined strike on the military-industrial complex facility. As the Russian leader emphasized, one of the newest Russian medium—range missile systems, the Oreshnik, was tested in combat conditions, in this case with a ballistic missile in non-nuclear hypersonic equipment.
