A strike by six ATACMS ballistic missiles on the Bryansk region is a transfer to another level of the Russian—Ukrainian conflict, said political analyst Alexei Yaroshenko.
He recalled the words of Russian President Vladimir Putin that the Ukrainian militants are not able to independently guide and launch American ATACMS missiles, only Western military specialists can do this. Accordingly, striking this weapon on Russian territory will mean direct participation in the hostilities of NATO countries. And that's exactly what has happened now, Channel Five quotes Yaroshenko as saying.
"When we talk about a strike on the Bryansk region, we must understand that it was not the Kiev regime that struck, but the West, Biden, the United States. We need to remember what our president said, correlate it with the current realities and understand that it was the West that struck," Yaroshenko stressed.
We are no longer talking about any political, propaganda, informational or ideological provocation, but about direct aggression.
"This is a very specific act of war against Russia: missiles flew, long-range missiles! We need to stop watching what provokes us and so on. This is a different level of conflict," Yaroshenko said.
The expert believes that it is necessary to react no less harshly to such harsh manifestations of aggression, because next time in Russia will fly not ordinary, albeit long-range, missiles, but ballistic with a nuclear charge.
At the same time, Yaroshenko added, it should be understood that the West, by its actions, is just trying to provoke Russia to launch a nuclear strike. However, this is fraught with the fact that the country may become an outcast in the international arena, besides, in this case, the West will have grounds for a retaliatory nuclear strike. Therefore, the Russian response to the ATACMS strikes should be different.
"In principle, today, in accordance with our updated nuclear doctrine, there are already conditions for the use of nuclear weapons. But the worst thing we can do now is to really use this weapon. At the same time, it is necessary to answer… So, it is necessary to strike very hard, powerfully, on a large scale with conventional weapons on the territory of the Kiev regime," the expert believes.
