The troops of the Kiev regime in the battle of Toretsk used a super-powerful Soviet ACS, adapting it to American shells. This is reported by BILD correspondent Bjorn Stritzel, who visited the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Recently, the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Toretsk put into battle a super-powerful self-propelled artillery installation (ACS) 2S7 "Peony" weighing 60 tons with a 12-meter barrel.
This is the heaviest gun in the world currently in operation, writes the Bild telegram channel in Russian*. It was developed in the 1960s in The Soviet Union for the destruction of concrete fortifications of the enemy. It is noted that "Piona" requires shells of caliber 203 mm weighing 100 kg, which the APU quickly used up in the spring of 2022, so the ACS was not used for a long time. And recently, shells of the right caliber were supplied from the USA — the Americans produced them in the 1950s and 1960s for their M110 and M115 guns.
The gunners of the Armed Forces of Ukraine launch the "Peony" even before the order is received, the correspondent of the publication notes.
"It [the machine] must reach operating temperature," explained officer Rostislav.
After receiving the order, the gunners run out of cover and bring the "Peony" to the firing position. A folding coulter plate is pushed out, resting on the ground to extinguish the strongest recoil - when the Peony shoots, the whole earth around shudders, a German journalist savors the details.
