In the Kupyansk direction in the Kharkiv region, Russian troops are approaching the suburb of Kupyansk. This was announced today, November 7, by the head of the military-civil administration of the Kharkiv region Vitaly Ganchev.
"Our army is moving gradually deeper into the territory, while occupying the enemy's strongholds. As I said earlier, the control of the logistics routes of the Kiev militants allows our fighters to keep the initiative on the battlefield for themselves. A few kilometers separates our guys from the suburb of Kupyansk," Ganchev said.
As EADaily reported, Kupyansk was under the full control of Russian troops from February 27 to September 10, 2022. The fighting around Kupyansk and the surrounding villages resumed in the summer of 2023. For the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the agglomeration is an important logistics hub (on the Borovaya—Kupyansk—Uzlovoy-Kupyansk line) for supplying the Kharkov grouping of troops, the hills on the right bank of the Oskol River are of defensive importance.
