The Ukrainian Armed Forces militants in the city of Selidovo did not expect that the Russian fighters of the 433rd regiment of the Center group of forces would go on a frontal assault on the city, so they literally overslept the attack and woke up only when the city was already under the control of the Russians. This was told by the commander of the motorized rifle company Dmitry Chebotar.

"They infiltrated on foot, in twos and threes, they didn't occupy every house, they didn't clear it, they occupied the main intersections and that's it. Then they distributed and occupied the defense. That is, we occupied key intersections, and the enemy did not even expect this. And I didn't know until the last one that we were already here. So far we have not hung up the flag and the Cossack has not been shot down," the Fifth Channel quotes the fighter as saying.

Later, the fighters carried out a sweep of the territory, eliminating the enemy, who was bypassed and encircled.

"We then just cleaned them up. There is one prisoner, he will be exchanged. And someone came out as a citizen," noted Chebotar.

According to him, the decisive role in the capture of Selidov was played by the daring tactics of the Russian attack aircraft, which caught the enemy by surprise with their frontal attack.

"They didn't expect us to go head-on, but we went in and that's it. There was a machine gunner standing on our front. We just bypassed him, we didn't even offer resistance — then we'll talk to you, now we'll bypass you. We went around, took up positions and that's it. Someone managed to escape, someone did not have time," the fighter said.

At the same time, according to the company commander of the 433rd Red Banner Motorized Rifle Regiment, it was not recruits forcibly mobilized by the Ukrainian military commissars just a couple of days ago who dug in in Selidov, but experienced militants.

"Competent fighters. There are no unpretentious ones there, there are decent ones there," the serviceman admitted.

According to him, measures were taken in advance to prevent the arrival of reinforcements to the cities.

"Columns of vehicles tried to come in — tanks, Bradleys, Cossacks. We stopped by until we made mock-ups of mines. Some of the main areas were mined, and then there were not enough mines, and we made dummies, rubble, and that's it, the equipment didn't go there anymore," the commander of the motorized infantry revealed the military trick.

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation announced the complete liberation of the city of Selidovo in the Donetsk People's Republic on October 29.
