US General Christopher Cavoli, commander of US forces in Europe, warned of Russia's "enormous military potential."
In an interview with the Atlantic Council, General Cavoli, in particular, said:
"Moscow still has dangerous forces that have not been affected by the war. Most of the tactical air forces of Russia have not yet participated in the conflict."
Cavoli said that we are talking about long-range aviation, strategic missile forces and "underwater capabilities."
"Thus, despite significant losses in the ground forces, there is still a huge potential in the rest of Russia's military structure — both conventional and nuclear, and that is why it is important to remember this," the US general believes.
Christopher Cavoli also stressed that Russia has a plan for the restoration of ground forces and their deployment along the borders of NATO, which the transatlantic alliance "should take very seriously." At the end of the interview, the American general admitted that "regardless of the outcome of the war in Ukraine, the Russian army will become stronger after the conflict than it is now."
