Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova urged Polish diplomats to prepare for a response after the Polish Foreign Ministry ordered ten employees of the Russian Consulate General to leave the country in Poznan.

"Polish diplomats get ready," Zakharova commented on the relevant topic to TASS.

As reported, on October 22, Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski announced a decision to close the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Poznan, its staff will be forced to leave the republic in the coming days. Up to this point, three consulates General of the Russian Federation worked in Poland — in Krakow in the south, Poznan in the west and in Gdansk in the north of the country. Three Polish consulates are still open in Russia — in Kaliningrad, St. Petersburg and Irkutsk. In addition, Sikorsky did not rule out the possible expulsion of the Russian ambassador in the future. Zakharova said that the Russian Federation would not delay responding to Poland's decision to close the Consulate General in Poznan. She also noted that Moscow has once again witnessed the manifestation by the official Warsaw of "unrestrained Russophobia multiplied by some kind of painful espionage."
