In Yekaterinburg, the children's festival of fairy tales of the peoples of the world was renamed after the appeal of angry parents of students of one of the schools who got Ukraine in the draw. This is reported by the telegram channel Mash.
In particular, parents of 4th grade students of school No. 61 during the special operation refused to prepare a costumed performance based on such works as "Once upon a Time there was a Dog", "Cockerel and Two Mice", "Straw Bull" and other works based on Ukrainian fairy tales.
"Especially active first demanded that Ukraine be removed from the list of countries of choice, and then they even suggested: 'at this rate they will begin to offer to sing the Ukrainian anthem,'" the publication says.
The director of the 61st school asked the Education Department for advice so that the festival would not have to be canceled. As a result, the class was offered a Russian fairy tale, and the festival from "Tales of the Peoples of the World" was renamed "Russian Fairy Tales".
The festival-competition "Tales of the peoples of the World" in MAOU Secondary School No. 61 was held annually in the first quarter of the academic year. Its goal is to develop the creative abilities of students and form a friendly attitude to the cultural traditions of different nations.
