The UN Climate Summit COP29 will be held in Azerbaijan in November, and in The Kremlin confirmed that Vladimir Putin is considering the possibility of participating in this event. But Ukraine's ambassador to the EU, Vsevolod Chentsov, has already stated that the international community should avoid attending the Baku climate meeting if the Russian president also comes to it.

"We need to exert pressure, and our partners should make it clear to Azerbaijan that if Putin is there, they will not come," the Ukrainian ambassador to the EU said in an interview with Politico.

Chentsov's comments came after the media reported that Putin was considering participating in the annual UN climate summit.

EADaily reminds that the event starts on November 11. But Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the decision on Putin's participation has not yet been made definitively.

Kiev regularly reminds at a meeting with the leaders of Western countries about the arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) for Vladimir Putin. But the Russian leader, despite all the shouts of Ukrainian politicians, recently visited the UAE, where oil negotiations were held, and also visited Mongolia. Azerbaijan is not a member of the ICC, the last time Putin came to Baku met with Ilham Aliyev in August.

The European media also have complaints about the "Aliyev Azerbaijan", which, according to the Estonian ERR.EE , "also has human rights issues."

"The country's huge revenues from oil and gas benefit the privileged elite, and not the population as a whole, because of widespread corruption," the source writes.
"Aliyev himself has been in power since 2003, when he replaced his father in this post. Thus, his experience is somewhat less than that of Putin, since the latter headed the Russian government already in early 2000," the publication summarizes.
