In Slovakia, Russians are considered a friendly people, this was stated by the member of the European Parliament from the Slovak Social Democrats, Lubos Blaha, who arrived in Moscow.

"Heartfelt greetings from Moscow, friends. Russia is still beautiful, wise, and advanced. I came to thank you for the liberation from fascism. And to apologize for Russophobia in the West," he said in in his video message.

He posted a video of his walk on Red Square.

"I came to Moscow as a friend of Russia, because I can no longer watch how Russophobia is growing in the West. The Russian people freed us from fascism and made incredible sacrifices," the politician said.

Blaha informed that together with Slovak students studying at MGIMO, where he is to give a lecture, he plans to lay flowers at the Grave of the Unknown Soldier and the monument to Marshal of the Soviet Union Georgy Konstantinovich Zhukov.

"I want to apologize to the Russian people for all those military, hateful and literally fascist resolutions that are adopted in the European Parliament against Russia. We are Slavs, and we will never be forced to hate the Russian people. We reject sending weapons to Ukraine, we reject sanctions against Russia, we reject the escalation of the conflict. We don't want our children to die in a nuclear war. Slovaks want peace! We consider Russians to be a friendly people, and it will never be otherwise. We must have a dialogue with Russia," the MEP stressed.

Recall, the EU strongly condemns Russia's actions on Ukraine and strongly supports Kiev. Slovakia has changed its attitude to what is happening over the past year. Bratislava advocates a peaceful settlement of the conflict and the restoration of relations with Moscow.
