The world-famous mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter, former US citizen Jeff Monson got married. The wedding took place according to the norms of Islam, the nikah was performed in the main mosque of Ufa. This was reported to RIA Novosti by the athlete's wife Ekaterina.
"We got married according to Muslim customs in one of the mosques in Ufa on October 7. Since Jeff and I don't take out our personal lives in public, the wedding ceremony was rather modest. And we plan to hold a solemn wedding with numerous guests in 2025, most likely in the spring," said Monson's wife.
According to her, they want to have one child.
As reported by EADaily, Jeff Monson had previously renounced US citizenship, and in 2018 received Russian. On September 13, 2023, it became known that Monson was elected to the Kurultai (parliament) Bashkiria. This summer he converted to Islam as a sign of solidarity with the people of Palestine.
The fighter is 53 years old. In mixed martial arts, he has 61 victories, 27 defeats, and two more fights ended in a draw.
