The new album of the People's Artist of Russia, singer Valeria, which is due to be released in April 2025, will be the last. After this project, the actress will leave the stage, said her husband and producer Joseph Prigozhin.
"It's very difficult. It's very hard. Therefore, it is very difficult to work with albums and collaborators today. Everything has its beginning and its end. And I think that at some point the time has come when we need to finish this story in that form," he told Channel Five.
He clarified that the release of the last album and the departure of Valeria from the scene was planned during the pandemic. But then producer and songwriter Maxim Fadeev offered to work on a very interesting album. Creating a new record is a very hard job, which is mainly related to collecting songs.
"Of course, we want this new album to become a part of everything that was created before. But this is, say, a new rebranding we are doing. Let's see what happens. We are experimenting all the time," the producer concluded.
Prigozhin added that the success of adult artists lies in the pursuit of something new, in the unwillingness to stop at what has been achieved. It is this model of creativity that young people should adopt from their senior colleagues.
Valeria became widely known in the 90s after participating in several competitions. So, in 1992 she became the winner of the television contest "Morning Star", the international contest "Bratislava Lyre" and received the audience award at the Jurmala-92 contest. During her career, Valeria has released 18 studio albums, recorded more than 90 singles and more than 60 video clips. The compositions performed by Valeria became the "Songs of the Year" 18 times, and were awarded the Golden Gramophone award 12 times.
