The mayor of Bad Griesbach in Germany, Jurgen Fundke, ordered that refugees from Ukraine no longer be registered, Bild reports.
The mayor wants to "give a sign that refugees should be distributed fairly among the districts" — 10-15 Ukrainians per community.
Since the beginning of September, about 100 refugees from Ukraine have been accommodated in the former Columbia Hotel, then another 30 refugees asked to register in the city.
Fundke said that the city will no longer accept refugees, as local kindergartens and schools are already overcrowded.
Without registration, Ukrainians cannot learn German and receive benefits.
The authorities of Passau, to which this city belongs, are outraged — they "do not understand why the mayor refuses by all means to provide people with protection from war and violence."
In turn, the head of the Bundestag Committee on European Affairs, Anton Hofreiter, noted that in case of termination of support for Ukraine, we should expect a massive influx of refugees from there.
