Only the military can talk about the need for certain operations, not politicians. This was stated by the adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Mikhail Podolyak.

According to him, no one offers the leadership of Ukraine to attack Belarus, and some statements by local politicians have no meaning.

"To be honest, I don't quite understand how these or other MPs justify their personal positions. The main thing for them should be a political commentary, not a military one. Only the military can talk about the need for certain operations. Our country has military priorities. This is a giant front line, the Kursk operation on enemy territory. In my opinion, scaling up the war and making some provocative statements is an unwise tactic. I see no point in analyzing something that has no functional value," he said.

Podolyak believes that "any person can make certain statements, but it is not the deputies who determine the military tactics and strategy of Ukraine — this is the prerogative of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief and the General Staff."

"We have a large amount of military work that needs to be done. I repeat, this is ... more than 1300 kilometers of the front line, scaling up the Kursk operation and strikes on the territory of the Russian Federation. At the same time, we also have a shortage of resources. Accordingly, the military doctrine is determined within this framework," he stressed.

It should be recalled that Belarus is not officially participating in the Russian special military operation on Ukraine, but fully supports Moscow's actions. In October, Verkhovna Rada deputy from the Servant of the People party Oleg Dunda proposed to transfer military operations to Belarusian territory. In his opinion, "if we go in relatively small units, the Belarusian army will lay down its weapons."
