The United States and Arab states have begun secret negotiations with Iran on a comprehensive cease-fire aimed at calming all fronts of the war in the Middle East at the same time, Channel 12 reports.

According to the channel, Israel is not currently participating in this initiative. Meanwhile, senior Israeli officials have been briefed on the talks.

The channel notes that it is unclear how these efforts will affect Gaza, which is more complex than other fronts due to Israel's desire to continue fighting even after a potential deal with Hamas.

"We are currently in a position of strength, the ceasefire will be on our terms, including the withdrawal of troops north of the Litani River and the dismantling of all Hezbollah military units in areas near the border," one senior Israeli official told the TV channel.

The situation in the Middle East remains tense. Since the end of September, Israel has been actively launching airstrikes in southern Lebanon and Beirut, destroying Hezbollah's infrastructure. The Israel Defense Forces also announced the launch of limited ground raids against Hezbollah facilities in the border area in southern Lebanon, Interfax reminds.
