Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan sent Russian Leader Vladimir Putin a birthday present. This was announced by the assistant to the head of state for International Affairs Yuri Ushakov.

"The Turkish president specially sent a gift before his conversation yesterday," Ushakov told reporters.

He clarified that it was a "good Turkish gift," TASS reports.

Answering the question about other gifts, Ushakov noted that "there were gifts."

As EADaily reported, on the afternoon of October 7, Erdogan warmly congratulated Putin on his birthday by phone.

The leaders also expressed satisfaction with the constructive nature of Russian-Turkish relations and readiness for further close cooperation. Some topical bilateral and international topics were discussed, including the dangerous development of the situation in the Middle East, the Kremlin said in a statement.
