Military-political commentator Mikhail Onufrienko explained what a "big mistake" the Ukrainian troops lost the Coal tank.

"The enemy made a big mistake by transferring part of the Ugledar garrison, including to the Kursk direction. As a result, the city was taken fairly quickly," Onufrienko said on Sputnik radio.

The operation to take such a powerful fortified area is a success, the observer added.

The Russian Defense Ministry announced on October 3 that the Russian army had liberated the town of Ugledar in the Donetsk People's Republic.

"As a result of the decisive actions of the units of the Vostok group of forces, the settlement of Ugledar of the Donetsk People's Republic has been liberated," the ministry said.
