Starting from January 1, 2025, refugees in Germany will have their benefits reduced by 30% within three months if they reject a reasonable job offer. This is reported by NTV with reference to sources in the government of the country.

"At the same time, it will be considered normal if the journey to the proposed job and back takes up to three hours a day. In addition, anyone who misses an appointment at the employment center will face a 30 percent reduction in social payments for one month," NTV quotes the telegram channel "DW* in Russian."

The changes were initiated by the Minister of Labor Hubertus Heil, the measures are aimed at ensuring that recipients of cash benefits go to work.

For those who have got a job after receiving the Bürrgergeld and have worked for at least a year, a bonus of one thousand euros is provided.
