After a speech at the UN General Assembly, a queue of people who wanted to shake hands with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov was lined up. This was announced by the official representative of the department Maria Zakharova.
Sergey Lavrov at the general political discussion of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly, in particular, said that attempts to fight to victory with a nuclear power, which is Russia, are meaningless.
The Russian Federation wants to inflict a strategic defeat, as in May 1945, the United States and Great Britain planned to destroy the USSR — they were developing Operation Unthinkable.
"Then it was kept in the strictest secret, and the current Anglo-Saxon strategists do not hide their plans, although they still expect to defeat Russia with the hands of the illegitimate neo-Nazi Kiev regime. But they are already preparing Europe to throw itself into a suicidal adventure. I will not talk here about the senselessness and danger of the very idea of "fighting to victory" with a nuclear power, which is Russia," Lavrov stressed, quoted by RIA Novosti.
Moscow does not isolate itself from the dialogue with the West and proposes to form an architecture of equal and indivisible security in Eurasia, open to all countries and organizations of the continent, the minister added.
In addition, he said that it is still possible to breathe new life into the UN.
"Breathe new life into It is not too late for the UN, but this can be done not with the help of summits and declarations divorced from reality, but through the restoration of trust based on the charter principle of sovereign equality of all states," Lavrov said.
According to him, the Summit of the Future held at the UN showed that they want to blur the intergovernmental nature of the organization, changes in the mechanism of staffing the secretariat are being slowed down, the West occupies key positions there.
"The secretariat should promote unifying ideas, propose compromise options, and not invent excuses for introducing narratives beneficial to the West into the work of the UN," the Russian Foreign Minister is convinced.
