American intelligence has warned Washington of serious retaliatory measures by Moscow in the event of a US decision to allow the Kiev regime to launch long-range strikes deep into Russia.
This is reported by The New York Times, citing informed sources. They claim that Russia's response to such a permit for Ukraine will be very serious.
At the same time, representatives of the intelligence services emphasize that such a decision will in no way affect the development of the armed conflict and will not improve the situation for Kiev.
One of the sources stressed that permission to strike with long-range weapons deep into Russia would not be able to change the balance of forces at the front, since its next deliveries were not discussed, and now the Armed Forces of Ukraine have an extremely limited supply.
Intelligence officers fully admit that Moscow, in response, will decide to strike at the territory of the United States and its NATO allies. In addition, pro-Russian saboteurs may become more active in Europe. They may start setting fires, as well as attacks on American and European military bases.
As EADaily reported, earlier White House press Secretary Karin Jean-Pierre announced that following a meeting between US President Joe Biden and the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, no announcement statements are expected regarding the possibility of using American weapons to strike the Ukrainian Armed Forces deep into Russia.
