During a missile strike on the port infrastructure, the captain of the 3rd rank of the Ukrainian Navy, Vladimir Kovalchuk, was eliminated. This is reported by the Nerubai community of the Odessa region.
"As a result of the enemy's rocket attack on the port territory, the commander of the naval guard ship, Captain 3rd rank Kovalchuk Vladimir Petrovich, was killed," the community's page on the social network says.
Kovalchuk was originally from this settlement. Neither the place nor the date of the strike is reported.
The strike of the Iskander-M with a cluster warhead on September 20 hit the 47th berth in the port of Odessa, which the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine used for military operations and patrolling, the Donbass Partisan telegram channel reports.
