A court in Moscow has arrested 43 bank deposits in three Russian banks in the case of former Deputy Defense Minister Timur Ivanov, accused of bribery, RIA Novosti reports with reference to court materials.

Earlier, Ivanov's lawyers said that the property of many people, including his parents, was arrested in the case.

The bribe imputed to Ivanov exceeds a billion rubles. If the court finds him guilty, it can fine him in the amount of 70 to 100 billion rubles. The court may also confiscate property obtained as a result of the implementation of corruption schemes.

Timur Ivanov, who oversaw the work of the military construction complex at the Russian Defense Ministry, and Sergei Borodin are accused of taking bribes on an especially large scale. Ivanov pleads not guilty.

One of them, a former serviceman, fully admitted guilt and reimbursed the damage in the amount of over 940 million rubles. He can be released on parole in the spring of next year.
