The leaders of the QUAD (Quadrilateral Security Dialogue) countries, namely the United States, India, Australia and Japan, expressed support for a comprehensive and sustainable peace at the Ukraine, without mentioning Russia. This follows from a joint statement published on September 21 on the White House website following the meeting.
"We reiterate the need for a comprehensive, just and lasting peace in accordance with international law, in accordance with the purposes and principles of the UN Charter, including respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity," the document says.
QUAD leaders also expressed their concern about the negative consequences of the conflict on Ukraine for the global food and energy security of countries.
