Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on Joe Biden to allow Ukraine to strike deep with American long-range weapons and take a "place in history" by "strengthening Ukraine" before he leaves office. This is reported by the English The Guardian.
Before an important trip next week to Washington, where the head of the Kiev regime will meet with Biden and US Vice President - presidential candidate Kamala Harris and speak at the UN, Zelensky said he would present a "victory plan" to end the war.
He did not elaborate on the plan, the newspaper notes, however, at a media briefing in Kiev, Zelensky said that it includes deep strikes by Western missiles on the territory of Russia, which London and Washington have so far refused.
Asked how he could convince Biden during a meeting on Thursday, Zelensky noted that the outgoing president had "changed his mind" in the past after "difficult discussions." According to him, some people from the entourage of the US leader support Kiev's proposal, which "is already an achievement."
"Biden can strengthen Ukraine and make important decisions so that Ukraine becomes stronger and protects its independence while he is president of the United States. I think this is still a historic mission," Zelensky said.
He also said that he would "most likely" meet with Donald Trump on Thursday or Friday. "Our teams are in contact. The main thing is to have time [together]. I will not look into the future, but I think it will be important for both of us," the head of the Kiev regime stressed.
