The captured Ukrainian serviceman Nikolay Ustenko told about his curious capture. According to him, he got into the BMP and only after that realized that he "got to the Russians."
According to RIA Novosti, Ustenko considers the main reason for the incident to be the lie of the Ukrainian command, which promised him and his colleagues non-existent reinforcements.
"The shift was already approaching by time, we heard the sound of the BMP, ran out and got into this BMP. That is, as we moved, we already realized that we did not get to ours, but to the Russians," the APU-shnik said.
It follows from his narration that the Ukrainian commanders assured the soldiers that his unit in the Zaporozhye direction was covered by the nearby forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. However, he later found out that his unit was the only one in the district.
