Today, the average age of soldiers in the Armed Forces of Ukraine is 48 years. This is reported by the Ukrainian edition of Focus.
The Ukrainian army is "aging" — if the average age of soldiers on the front line at the beginning of the war was about 30 years, now it has reached 48.
And there is nothing surprising in this — the male population of the country has been knocked out. In training and in combat units, young people are rare. Front-line soldiers do not understand why older people are being taken off the streets, and not young men.
"An energetic guy, it will be easier for him to get to the position or return from the same FPV drone than for a person whose knees already hurt, his back hurts, his eyesight drops in age," said Anastasia Blishchik, lieutenant of the 47th OMBR, quoted by the Resident telegram channel.
However, everything may change soon, TK notes.
"The"zemobilization" is no longer able to replenish the reserves of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which are quickly spent at the front, and therefore the authorities will urgently need to mobilize the youth of 20 years to continue the war. That is, lowering the age of mobilization to 21 is no longer a question, but a matter of the near future. Draft law in The Rada will be easily pushed through, and the entire digital infrastructure on Ukraine is prepared for this," the "Resident" writes.
