Denis Postovoy, a Russian citizen, was detained in the United States, whom the authorities suspected of violating export restrictions, money laundering and illegal supplies of dual-use and military microelectronics to Russia, the US Department of Justice reports.

According to the agency, a 44-year-old Russian who lived in Sarasota, Florida, has been buying and illegally exporting electronic components from the United States since at least February 2022, including those that can be used in the production of drones.

The Ministry of Justice believes that deliveries without the necessary licenses were handled by a network of companies associated with the Guard in Hong Kong — WOWCube HK Limited, JST Group Hong Kong, Jove HK Limited.

"It is alleged that he lied about the final destination of the equipment he was sending and used intermediate destinations to hide illegal activities," said Prosecutor Matthew Graves.

The investigation is being conducted by the Department of Homeland Security, coordinated by the Disruptive Technology Strike Force interdepartmental group, which includes employees of the Ministry of Justice and the US Department of Commerce.

In early August, Russian Artur Petrov was extradited to the United States, who was arrested in Cyprus at the request of Washington. Authorities believe that the 33-year-old man supplied American-made microelectronics to Russia bypassing sanctions. The Russian Consulate General in New York said it would seek contact with the detainee.
