Journalist and TV presenter Vladimir Pozner, who has been silent for 2.5 years, as if he had filled his mouth with water, for the first time gave an interview to the Forbes Talk project on YouTube. At the very beginning, Posner explained that he was "retreating from his principles" and decided to speak only because he was obliged to the host of the issue, Anton Zhelnov. He is not planning any more public outings.
An almost 1.5-hour attempt to somehow understand the mysterious media centenarian consists of almost half of advertising, and subscribers in the comments wonder why Posner came to this meeting, stating the "next question" every other time, without giving a single specific answer, having agreed in advance with the journalist not to discuss any topical issues, supporting his the image of an elderly intellectual who can change his shoes in the air in a couple of seconds.
The key reason for this interview is Posner's statements about his work and Channel One.
The journalist said that he had made an eight-part film about Turkey and had already handed it over to the channel. The film was accepted according to all technical parameters, but now General Director Konstantin Ernst has to decide whether this film will be aired.
"If he likes the movie, he will determine when it will go. In general, such films were usually given during the winter holidays. I don't know what decision will be made, but it seems to me that we have made a good film," Posner hopes.
He noted that he really misses the airwaves, "it's his and he does it very well," and, of course, he would really like to return, but "it just happened."
The question of the desire to return to Posner called the first channel very heavy.
"And... generally speaking, I dream of it happening. But I don't think that will happen. This is the only answer I can give," said Posner.
Users quite correctly appreciated this release, leaving eloquent comments.
"Some kind of soap. An interview for the sake of an interview. The semantic load is 0", "I watch 30 minutes, talking about nothing, half of that time is advertising", "This person has a considerable mind, but there is not a penny of decency and honor", "Since childhood I have not understood why a person deserves unconditional respect just because he is old. Here he lived to be 90 years old, and still enjoys life. And this should be discussed? Well done, of course", "I read that Posner dreams of returning to television — I won't even watch this chatterbox", "That's how Posner ended", "Somehow we lived without him for 3 years and we'll live on", "I decided to listen to the end! I don't understand why he did it! Once again proved how slippery and unpleasant he is!", "I have always watched Pozner's programs with great interest, but, unfortunately, you understand now that you need to leave on time", "You know perfectly well that this is a man of cunning and adaptability, that there is no faith or trust in him, his insides can be seen right away — than he breathed, breathes and what quality of air he spreads around himself", "Too fixated on his beloved. Tricky," the subscribers of the YouTube channel draw conclusions.
As EADaily reported, in fact, Posner appeared once during these 2.5 years on the air of Channel One. On the day of his 90th birthday, on April 1 of this year, a documentary about Posner. He personally liked this work very much, but the public took it, to put it mildly, with criticism.
However, over the past couple of years, Posner has repeatedly gone on tour as part of a duet with TV presenter Ivan Urgant.
