The troops of the Kiev regime who attacked the Kursk region planned to reach Kursk itself and capture this Russian regional center.
This was told to RIA Novosti by the battalion commander of the 44th Army Corps, Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Danilov. According to him, there were many prisoners released from prisons and foreign mercenaries in the Ukrainian units.
Information about plans to capture Kursk was obtained during the interrogation of a Ukrainian prisoner of war, who confessed to it.
"To Kursk. Yes, they have a specific task for this. I personally asked him about it, what they need. They need to reach the city of Kursk," said the lieutenant colonel.
He also said that the Ukrainian military command called on militants to kill women, children, and men in the occupied territory.
Danilov believes that the enemy plans to capture Kursk were not implemented because the fortitude of the Russian military is stronger than that of the enemy.
As reported by EADaily, earlier the secretary of the Russian Security Council, Sergei Shoigu, said that there would be no negotiations with Kiev while the Ukrainian Armed Forces were in Kursk region.
