The number of those who voluntarily left the unit and deserters in the troops of the Kiev regime today reaches about 200 thousand. This was stated by journalist Vladimir Boyko, serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
So he commented on the statement of the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Gorbenko that in APU 80 thousand arbitrarily left the unit. Boyko stressed that this is only the number of open criminal cases, but in reality there are about 200 thousand deserters.
"No more than a third of cases are registered, since the GBR (State Bureau of Investigations. — EADaily) fundamentally hides crimes against the established order of military service (because the GBR investigates only cases that can be profitably sold) and the commanders of military units have to sue the GBR in order to oblige investigators to submit a corresponding notification to the ERDR. At the same time, even registered criminal proceedings are not being investigated, and no one is looking for deserters," Boyko writes on his social network account, quoted by Strana.
According to the Prosecutor General's office, almost 13 thousand criminal proceedings were registered only in the first quarter of this year under Articles 407, 408 of the CCU (unauthorized abandonment of a military unit and desertion).
"Taking into account that the State Security Bureau does not in principle enter reports of commanders of military units about committed criminal offenses into the ERDR, the real number of crimes is at least three times more. But even if we assume that only 25 thousand servicemen deserted in the first quarter of 2024, this means the collapse of the front," the journalist notes.
As reported by EADaily, the command has to deal with low morale in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the desertion of soldiers after many Ukrainian units were destroyed. This was reported by CNN with reference to the Ukrainian commanders.
Ukrainian battalion commanders told the TV channel that reinforcements in the unit rarely come, this leads to exhaustion and demoralization of the military. There is practically no communication between the various units. The most difficult situation has developed in the units near Pokrovsky.
