The power system of Ukraine was transferred to emergency power outages throughout the country. The Russian army strikes back.
"Ukrenergo" gave the order to introduce emergency blackouts. Please note that during emergency outages, schedules that can be predicted far in advance do not work," reports DTEK, which manages power plants and most of the regional power industry on Ukraine.
Oblenergo and regional authorities have previously reported on regional blackouts.
Outages in Kiev and the region were announced by Mayor Vitali Klitschko. There were also outages of the all-Ukrainian telethon. The administration of the Ukrainian capital announced the opening of shelters of "Indestructibility Points", while water supply failures began on the right bank of the Dnieper in the capital.
The head of the Lviv regional military administration Maxim Kozitsky reported an emergency situation in his region. There were statements about direct hits to power facilities in Lutsk and Odessa. A substation is on fire in the latter, according to local telegram channels.
As EADaily reported, on the morning of August 26, the Russian army retaliated against the power system of Ukraine.
Strikes are recorded in Kharkiv, Sumy, Kirovohrad, Vinnytsia, Kiev (including Kiev), Zaporozhye, Khmelnitsky and Dnipropetrovsk regions. There are also already flights to Odessa, Chernihiv, Lutsk. The geography of the affected targets is growing rapidly, while it is reported that some of the missiles were fired at targets in Western Ukraine.
