The owner of the social network X, entrepreneur Elon Musk, commented on the arrest in France of Telegram founder Pavel Durov.

"Here's an advertisement for the First Amendment (to the US Constitution). She is very convincing," he wrote on Twitter in response to Durov's arrest.

Musk also jokingly did not rule out that by 2030 in Europe they will be executed for likes to memes.

The first amendment to The U.S. Constitution is part of the Bill of Rights. It guarantees that the US Congress will not (among other things) encroach on freedom of speech and freedom of the press.

On Saturday evening, French media reported that the founder of Durov was detained at Le Bourget airport. This happened when exiting a private plane, which allegedly arrived from Azerbaijan.

According to the local press, Durov, who has French citizenship, was on the list of wanted persons in the country. According to them, the French justice considers Durov involved in crimes for a number of reasons, including Telegram's refusal to cooperate with the country's authorities.

On Sunday, the founder of the messenger may face charges, including terrorism, drug trafficking, fraud and money laundering.
