A member of the Federation Council from the Zaporozhye region, former head of Roscosmos and ex-Deputy Prime Minister for the military-industrial complex Dmitry Rogozin visited the Zaporozhye NPP a few hours before the attack by drones of the Ukrainian Armed Forces cooling tower, where a fire broke out.

"Ukrainians contribute to the destruction of the nuclear power plant by depriving it of water to cool the reactors. The pond of the NPP (its water is used to cool the reactor circuit), after the discharge of the Dnieper waters into the old channel, due to the death of the Kakhovsky reservoir, it is not possible to replenish with fresh water. And the one that exists, judging by its level, evaporates in 40-degree heat at a rate of up to one centimeter per day. At the same time, the construction of a canal that would feed this pond with the waters of the Dnieper is impossible due to shelling from the other bank," Dmitry Rogozin writes in the telegram channel.

"I would like to ask the military command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, personally Syrsky: are you crazy there? Don't you understand that the man-made catastrophe of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant will leave these lands infected for 100 years? Or do you no longer care, and have you already said goodbye to this land, with the old gray Dnieper, having marked out places in Europe for burning the rest of your days? Stop, madmen!", — continued a member of the Federation Council from the Zaporozhye region, former head of Roscosmos and ex-Deputy Prime Minister for the military-industrial complex.

He added that in addition to the attack on the cooling tower, the Kiev regime is constantly hitting substations in Energodar.

"...A crazy Ukrainian (although why "crazy"? Rather, a cold-blooded criminal) regularly knocks out all electrical substations in Energodar. The city is constantly plunged into darkness. Reconnaissance drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are constantly hanging in the sky, my frequency analyzer, while I was at the NPP, screamed endlessly," Dmitry Rogozin added.

In his opinion, the Ukrainian Armed Forces should not even try to seize the Zaporozhye NPP: "Don't even try. Neither by helicopter landing, nor by pontoon crossings, nor by high-speed boats from Zaporozhye downstream to storm the NPP. Don't. They are waiting for you here and will destroy you."

In the specialized telegram channel RealAtomInfo, they noticed that they could go too far with their drone attacks on the AFU station.

"At first we hit the site, no one died. The post-Apocalypse has not come. Now — on the cooling tower, everyone is alive again, the background is normal. And what will happen next? Tomorrow they will hit the machine halls, and the day after tomorrow they will hit the reactor buildings? In the end, they can finish playing," writes TK.

As EADaily reported, on August 11, the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked the Zaporozhye NPP with drones.

"As a result of the shelling of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a fire broke out on the shore in the area of the cooling towers of the NPP. EMERCOM employees are working at the scene of the fire, the fires are being liquidated. The fire did not affect the operation of the station in any way. ZAES works normally. All six units, as before, do not work and are in a state of "cold shutdown". Violations of the limits and conditions of safe operation of nuclear power plants have not been recorded. The radiation background at the NPP site, in the sanitary protection zone and in the observation zone is normal," the Zaporozhye NPP reported.

Around midnight, the station reported that the fire in the area of the cooling towers was localized and there were no threats of further gorenje.

Rosatom told RBC that as a result of the fire, serious damage was caused to the internal structures of the cooling tower, the threat of collapse of the structure would later be assessed by specialists.

The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said that the West remained silent after the attack of the NPP: "Where are Rafael Grossi and all the IAEA? Where is at least some kind of imitation of the work of this UN structure in this critical area? The terrorists in Kiev, under the leadership of the collective West, destroyed their country, ruined the people of Ukraine, undermined global energy and food security, and now they have taken up the nuclear terror of the continent."
