Wreckage and fragments were found at the Kursk NPP — presumably fragments of intercepted Ukrainian missiles. This was announced today by the Permanent Mission of the Russian Federation to international organizations in Vienna.

Russia informed the IAEA about the incident.

"On August 8, fragments and fragments — presumably fragments of intercepted missiles - were found at the station, including in the radioactive waste processing zone. So far, there have been no direct attacks on the city of Kurchatov, nuclear power plants or energy infrastructure facilities. However, the situation remains tense. Reckless actions of Ukraine threaten not only the Russian nuclear facility, but also the entire global nuclear industry," the representative office said in a statement published on the official telegram channel.

As EADaily reported on the eve, the air defense forces destroyed three Ukrainian missiles in the sky over the Kursk region, said acting governor of the region Alexei Smirnov.
