Dmitry Rogozin, a member of the Federation Council Committee on Defense and Security, commented on the introduction of a counter-terrorism operation (CTO) regime in three Russian regions.
The former head of Roscosmos expressed his opinion on this issue on Saturday, August 10 in his own Telegram channel.
"If the Supreme has decided this way, it means that he knows better who will more reliably ensure the legality and constitutional rights of our citizens in the border regions of the Russian Federation. It would have been different, a different regime would have been introduced," the politician said.
He expressed the hope that the Border Troops of the FSB of Russia will be organized in the near future. And that they will be provided with everything necessary for conducting intelligence and technical intelligence in the border regions.
The senator also believes that the border guards should become an armed force sufficient to repel the enemy's attack, prevent them from violating the State border of the Russian Federation and deter the enemy's advance inland until the approach of our main army forces.
"The situation in the world and in our country has changed radically, and these decisions are urgently needed," Rogozin concluded.
Earlier, EADaily reported that the CTO regime was introduced in the Bryansk, Belgorod and Kursk regions. The reason was the attacks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the territory of the Kursk region, as a result of which civilian casualties, destruction of residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were noted in the region.
