The countries of Central Asia have become hostages of the sanctions policy. This was stated by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev during the consultative meeting of the heads of the Central Asian republics in Astana, Sputnik Kazakhstan reports.

According to him, the region is fully experiencing the negative consequences of the global "crisis of confidence" and the escalation of conflicts.

Mirziyoyev invited his colleagues to develop a concept of regional security and stability.

"Today and tomorrow in Central Asia, the well—being of our countries and peoples largely depend on our common efforts," he said.

The summit of the heads of state of Central Asia plus Azerbaijan is being held in the Kazakh capital today. The next meeting will be held in a year in Uzbekistan.
