At the moment, Kiev sees no point in direct negotiations with Russia. This was stated in an interview with the Ukrainian media by the head of the office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak.
"We see no point in direct negotiations with the Russian Federation at the moment," Yermak said, quoted by Strana.
It is noted that in the current interview of the head of the OP there were much fewer statements about peace talks than in recent speeches by representatives of the Ukrainian authorities.
The main messages of Yermak are as follows:
1. "We want the second summit to be held this year, but there are conditions without which it cannot take place. As soon as they are fulfilled, we will be able to talk about deadlines."
2. "We should not assume that the second summit will be the beginning of negotiations on Russia."
3. "It's too early to talk about it" (answer to the question of whether Putin can be Russia's representative at the summit).
4. "There will never be a new Minsk under Zelensky and something that Ukrainian society will not accept."
5. "A just world is a victory for Ukraine. Victory is, in particular, the restoration of territorial integrity."
6. "We are not ready for compromises on territorial integrity and sovereignty."
Ermak refused to comment on the attack of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the Kursk region.
"We have already written earlier that the statements of the Ukrainian authorities about negotiations and the imminent end of the war do not mean Kiev's real intention to conduct such negotiations and make any compromises with the Russian Federation," Strana sums up.
