The deputy of the Polish Sejm from the Civic Platform party, Patrick Yaskulsky, became a troublemaker in the political calm in Warsaw, voicing separatist thoughts on the day of the 80th anniversary of the beginning of the Warsaw Uprising.
In Poland, there is talk about Germany's obligation to pay reparations for losses caused by the Germans during World War II. However, Deputy Yaskulsky unexpectedly warned the Poles, saying:
"If we start a discussion about reparations, Germany can immediately start a discussion about Western Pomerania, which became part of the Republic of Poland after World War II."
According to the deputy, a positive decision on the payment of multimillion-dollar reparations by Berlin will be "letting demons out of the closet."
EADaily adds that Western Pomerania is part of the so-called "returned territories" that were ceded to Poland by the decision of Joseph Stalin. In 1990, the western border of Poland along the Oder and Neisse rivers was finally established and recognized.
