Kiev announced the suspension of payments on Eurobonds. Economists state that in this way Ukraine will not pay a coupon payment of $ 34 million on Eurobonds maturing until 2026. As reported today, August 1, RIA Novosti, the payment comes on the first day of August.

The information became known from the decree of the Ukrainian government.

"In connection with the implementation of transactions with government debt on bonds of foreign government loans of 2018 of the first series, from August 1, 2024, the implementation of payments on government debt obligations related to the payment of interest income on bonds of foreign government loans of 2018 will be temporarily stopped," the explanatory note says.

Experts also remind that Kiev had an additional 10-day grace period for this payment. But the Ukrainian authorities have made it clear that they will not pay.
