Rostec State Corporation (GC) has handed over to the Russian Ministry of Defense the next batches of modernized mobile mortars 2S12A "Sani", towed mortars 2B11 and light mortars 2B24. Rostec is increasing production of these samples in accordance with the requirements of the state customer, the press service of the GC reported on the eve, July 23.
The Sani complex includes an all-terrain vehicle based on the Ural, capable of traveling 1000 km. A 120 mm 2B11 mortar is transported in its body, which is unloaded using an electric bucket. Due to the mobility, the Sleds can be used as "roaming" mortars with a constant change of positions. This allows you to mislead the enemy about the fire system and the number of available forces.
2B11 mortars have a high rate of fire, their aimed firing range is more than 7 km. Thanks to the modified plate, the gun can conduct a circular fire. The ammunition of the mortar is designed for more than fifty rounds. It allows you to hit enemy positions, command observation posts, equipment and manpower with mounted fire.
The 2B24 82 mm mortar is light in weight and is designed for infantry units, including mountain infantry. It is easy to handle and is an effective means of defeating manpower, shelters and lightly armored vehicles.
"We have handed over to the Ministry of Defense the next batches of Sani mortar complexes, towed 2B11 mortars and 2B24 light mortars. All delivered artillery pieces have proven their reliability and effectiveness in combat conditions. In accordance with the requirements of the state customer, Rostec is increasing production of these mortars," said Bekhan Ozdoev, industrial director of the state corporation's complex of conventional weapons, ammunition and special chemicals.
Last month, it was reported that the Russian Army had supplied a batch of the latest 152 mm self-propelled wheeled howitzers "Malva".
