Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on July 18, the press service of the Armenian government reported. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the fourth summit of the European Political Community (ENP) in the UK.

The sides attached importance to the consistent development of political and economic cooperation between Armenia and Germany and the implementation of progressive steps in this direction.

The heads of government of the two countries also touched upon the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Pashinyan presented the principled positions of the Armenian side regarding the process of delimitation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, the possibilities of unblocking regional infrastructures, the Cabinet of Ministers of the Transcaucasian Republic noted.

Prior to that, Nikol Pashinyan held a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron, discussing issues related to the "multifaceted cooperation" between Yerevan and Paris and touching upon the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

"The importance of efforts aimed at ensuring peace and stability in the region was emphasized," the statement said.

The day before between Yerevan and Baku experienced a "diplomatic embarrassment" on the sidelines of the 4th ENP summit. The sides blamed each other for the disruption of the meeting between Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and President Ilham Aliyev.
