A third humanitarian corridor is opened in Eastern Ghouta, Damascus. 300 civilians and 15 militants willing to surrender have managed to leave the are through it within last 24 hours, the Russian Reconciliation Center for Syria informs.

Until today, two humanitarian corridors were active in Eastern Ghouta. Since the late February, more than 80,000 residents of the region managed to leave the territories controlled by militants from different groups.

According to experts, the fate of Eastern Ghouta is determined; the rest of the Islamic militants located to the east of Damascus are doomed to surrender on the terms proposed by the government.

By the second half of March 20, Eastern Ghouta was freed from militant groups by 75%. Earlier, the Ahrar al-Sham group laid down arms and gave away Harasta in exchange for evacuation of militants with their families to Idlib, north-western Syria.

Meanwhile, Jaysh al-Islam is still trying to keep its positions in Duma, the biggest town in Eastern Ghouta. The talks with Islamist fighters continue with participation of the Reconciliation Center. The key terms for safe transit of the Islamists to Idlib is giving away all heavy weapons and releasing all captives and prisoners.
