The German authorities have set time limits to leave for three families of refugees who earlier were granted residence permit in Estonia under the European Union quota for refugees. None of the families have come back to Estonia, err.ee reports.

“After a short stay in Estonia the families went to Germany in 2017 without authorization. Overall, there are 13 persons in these three families,” the Estonian Interior Ministry’s press office reports. The German authorities have warned Estonia twice that the refugees were given certain dates to return to the country and the German side bought tickets to Tallinn for them. It is still unknown when the families will be back to Estonia.

17 refugees who arrived under quotas were returned to Lithuania from various EU countries as they failed to uphold the promise to stay in the Baltics for permanent residence. In particular, there are Syrians among them. Nine of them were deported back to Lithuania from Germany. It happened after it was found that they had no legal basis for staying in Germany.

Up to date, 188 people were replaced to Estonia within the EU migration policy, including 41 from Turkey and 6 from Italy. All the refugees brought from Italy back to Estonia are from Eritrea. About a half of refugees replaced to Estonia under refugee quota are no longer in the country. After getting into the poor Baltic countries, migrants snatch every opportunity to get into Western Europe.
