At present time, Armenia is in talks with Georgia, Bulgaria, Greece, and Iran about establishing a transit transport corridor from the Persian Gulf to the Black Sea, Head of Staff of the Armenian Ministry of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies Samvel Amirkhanyan has announced.
According to him, development and strengthening of economic and trade relations in the region is the keystone of the program. The program is aimed at easing the procedures of international cargo transportation, management of the processes, reducing transport costs, improving security and attracting cargos from other countries.
“The program will encourage Armenian cargo carriers using sea and land routes to enter global markets under simplified procedures. The program will also allow speeding up and easing transportation of perishable goods,” Amirkhanyan is quoted as saying by Armenpress.
