In the reports that Ukraine supplied North Korea with missile technologies or weapons is confirmed, Kiev will face sanctions that will become disastrous for the country, the former prime minister of Ukraine, leader of Batkivshchyna Party, Yulia Tymoshenko posted on Facebook.

She recalls that UN arms embargo bans any import and export deals with North Korea. Tymoshenko blames President Petro Poroshenko and Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman for the situation that is a result of their “incompetence and criminal activity.”

Earlier EADaily reported that Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Olexander Turchynov said Ukraine’s military and industrial sector supplied no arms or military technologies to North Korea.

Turchynov’s statement came after Western media reports. Thus, referring to classified assessment of U.S. intelligence services and a new study by Michael Elleman, a missile expert at the International Institute for Strategic Studies, The New York Times wrote: “North Korea’s success in testing an intercontinental ballistic missile that appears able to reach the United States was made possible by black-market purchases of powerful rocket engines probably from a Ukrainian factory, known as Yuzhmash.”
