Kazakh prime minister dismissed

Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Karim Masimov has been dismissed, says a statement published in the official presidential website. According to a president’s decree, Masimov is appointed chairman of the National Security Council.

First Deputy Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev is appointed as acting prime minister of Kazakhstan. The government of Kazakhstan will continue fulfilling its duties until a new cabinet is approved.

Karim Masimov was prime minister in 2007-2012. Since 2012 to 2014 he was deputy head of the president’s administration. In April 2014, he became prime minister again.
