A district court in Astana, Kazakh capital, has upheld 18 claims to pronounce illegal and contradicting to Kazakh laws contents of several websites. The court ruled to suspend operation of the websites in the country.
According to the press office of Astana Attorney Office, all the claims were submitted by the State Media and Communications Control Committee of the Kazakh Information and Communications Ministry.
“We have found 94 websites that propagate terrorism, extremism and separatism. They are considered to be undermining the national security and blocked,” the statement released on July 26 says.
