Supreme Rada approves new Cabinet

Today, on April 14, the Supreme Rada approved the new Cabinet headed by Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman.

After the voting, Groysman read out the oath of the Cabinet member. The Parliament passed an enactment dismissing the members Arseniy Yatsenyuk’s Cabinet who were not appointed to the new Cabinet. 

Ukraine’s new Cabinet comprises:

Prime Minister – Volodymyr Groysman;

First Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economy — Stepan Kubiv;

Deputy Prime Minister for Social Policy — Pavlo Rozenko;

Deputy Prime Minister for Humanitarian Affairs — Vyacheslav Kyrylenko;

Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration — Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze;

Deputy Prime Minister for Regional Development, Construction — Hennadiy Zubko;

Deputy Prime Minister for Emergencies, Technogenic Disasters and Industrial Development — Volodymyr Kistion;

Minister of Finance— Oleksandr Danylyuk;

Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers— Oleksandr Sayenko;

Minister of Defense— Stepan Poltorak;

Minister of Foreign Affairs— Pavlo Klimkin;

Minister of Interior— Arsen Avakov;

Minister of Justice — Pavlo Petrenko;

Minister of Social Policy— Andriy Reva;

Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources— Ostap Semerak;

Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food — Taras Kutoviy;

Minister of Information Policy— Yuri Stets;

Minister of Education and Science— Liliya Grynevych;

Minister of Youth and Sports — Ihor Zhdanov;

Minister of Culture — Yevhen Nyshchuk;

Minister for IDPs, ATO Zone and Occupied Territories — Vadym Chernysh;

Minister of Energy and Coal Industry—Ihor Nasalyk;

Minister of Infrastructure— Volodymyr Omelyan;

Minister of Health— no appointment.

EADaily reported earlier that today, the Supreme Rada of Ukraine has satisfied Arseniy Yatsenyuk’s letter of resignation from the post of the prime minister and appointed him as the successor of Supreme Rada Speaker Volodymyr Groysman.  First Vice Speaker – People’s Deputy from the People’s Front Party Andriy Parubiy is appointed as the speaker of the Supreme Rada. Yuri Lutsenko, the head of the Petro Poroshenko Bloc (PPB) said a coalition of two factions has been formed in Ukraine – PPB and People’s Front. The coalition comprises 227 deputies, while the required minimum was 226. Yulia Tymoshenko, in turn, said her Batkivshchyna Party faction in the Supreme Rada joins the opposition – the new authorities of Ukraine that “have lost confidence”. Vadim Rabinovich, an MP from the Opposition Bloc, said his party boycotts the parliament meeting. He said the new coalition and the government would operate for no longer than two months.
