On Apr 3, the Foreign Ministry of Abkhazia appeared with a statement concerning the current situation in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone.
“We are seriously concerned about the current situation in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone and strongly condemn the use of force which has resulted in deaths among servicemen and civilians,” says the Abkhazian Foreign Ministry.
It urges the parties to the conflict to stop the military actions and to start a political dialogue so as to find a way-out of the crisis and to avoid new deaths.
The ministry hopes that the OSCE mediators and foreign leaders will do their best to re-establish the ceasefire and to stabilize the situation.
The Foreign Ministry of South Ossetia has also made a statement on the subject.
“South Ossetia is concerned about the current situation in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone. We are especially worried about the use of heavy arms and planes. The campaign launched by the Azerbaijani army against the Defense Army of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic has already claimed numerous lives,” says the ministry.
It urges the world community to take urgent measures to stop the conflict as further escalation may lead to most serious consequences for the whole South Caucasus.
“We firmly condemn Azerbaijan’s choice to use force and urge it to give ear to the calls for ceasefire as this conflict cannot be settled by means of military adventures,” the ministry says.
