Policeman from Riga Janis Brusevics was forced to quit his job following the scandal caused by his Facebook comment on the recent air crash in Rostov-on-Don.
EADaily’s correspondent quotes Mayor of Riga Nils Usakovs that Brusevics’s comment was inadmissible. So, after a talk with his bosses, he was forced to quit his job. The Riga police have asked the security police to see if Brusevics has broken any law by making such a comment.
As was reported earlier, in his Facebook comment Brusevics said that “nothing awful happened as there were mostly Russian citizens there.” This comment outraged Latvia’s Russian community and the Riga police were forced to apologize. Brusevics repented but was still dismissed.
On Mar 19, a Boeing 737 flying from Dubai with 62 people onboard crashed while trying to land in Rostov-on-Don.
